Their knowledge of the area is unbeatable with regards to local customs, as well as local flora and fauna-I remember that one of our porters scoured the hills for nettle one day and made us nettle curry for dinner! What a fantastic trip, and so well organised by Everest hiking! My wife and i were met at the airport on 29th October and given a wonderful welcome to Nepal. It was at the time when the fuel shortages and food shortages were in progress but our host made sure we were not adversely effected. We met our guide on the next day and flew to Lukla the day afterwards and met our porter. Our guide Jit was very competent and attentive, negotiating the best rates in the lodges and always very safety conscious. Our guide was particularly good on our acclimatisation days (one at Namche, and one at Dengboche) when he took us high up to fantastic view points, two of our best days. As a result we did not suffer from altitude at all! Our high points were EBC and Kalapatar and overall we had a fantastic trek. Everest Hiking is very flexible and so was our guide, your not on a rigid timetable or programme, its your timetable, they will adapt if you want to change. Its one of the reasons we would definately use them again.

I took my first trip to Nepal in October to walk the Manaslu Trek with 3 friends. Nabu and Ramesh from Everest Hiking Treks and Expedition organised a brilliant and well organised trek. They organised permits, hire of down jackets, lodges, (even sending on a a porter ahead of us to ensure we had good accommodation venue each night bearing in mind a lack of mobile signal often means it’s difficult to book in advance. Ramesh and his team of porters (Orgen, Susil and Deepok) were great company, pointed out places of interest, showed us all sorts of interesting wildlife and really looked after us.
